Art Happens

During winter, our water company leaves one of the lines open along Ocean Avenue, to avoid a freeze up. The resulting spray is capable of creating some real masterpieces. Like this ice sculpture I photographed back in 2007.

Here's a photo I took at the same spot today. As winter progresses, the sculpture will continue to morph into even more unusual and interesting shapes, as it increases in size.

Today, I thought to have Henri pose at the base to show the size and dimension it has attained so far this winter.

Art, brought to us courtesy of our local water company!

Very cool...literally! We've had ice storms here before, but I never knew that a water company would do that. It's practical and beautiful! Thanks for posting!
