I'm always picking up things from the shore, like this pretty sea urchin, that I can combine with other recycled objects.
I pick up wooden letters when I see them on sale, especially the ones that spell out my favorite place. In it's former life, this curved distressed board was part of a church steeple.
I gave the wooden letters and sea urchins a coating of liquid gold leaf.
I love how the board is weathered with just the right amount of chippy paint and empty nail holes that make me sigh.
I like the way it looks on the wall.
Especially, right above my tin lobster that I painted blue.

Kat, It's in an upstairs spot that I get to look at each day.
JoAnn, I have a small collection of blue lobsters too, hope some day to catch a real one that we would donate to local research place here to keep alive.
Leeann, Yes! I LOVE my funky blue lobster. We have sunny and cold here today too, but just a couple days ago it was 54 F. -- don't know what that translates to in C. though.
Jennyfreckles, I took my title photo at the Schoodic Region of Acadia National Park, just 12 miles from here, during a day with gale force winds.
I just saw your post on Kat's blog..., what a treasure that sea urchin is. I would love to find something like that!! And the lobster is so neat in blue!
