We spend a lot of time walking along the shore here, so when it came time to splurge on a couple slabs of granite for my tiny kitchen, I knew exactly what I wanted it to look like.
I wanted a slab of black granite with a rock-faced edge.
And I wanted the edges to follow an irregular line.
I got lucky and found someone willing to do this for me.
I also wanted a large under mount sink since we do not have a dishwasher (unless you count me) in our tiny kitchen.
Henri even made up some granite knobs for our kitchen cupboards from rocks we found on the shore.

LOVE the counter! Bravo on following your inspiration! Beautiful!
Hi Lili! I just stopped over to say hello. I have been wanting to get here since I received my order but came down with a cold Monday evening and it put me out for about 24 hours.
Love what you did with the Granite in your kitchen ~ it's stunning, and the little accents you added make it even more perfect.
I also wanted to say thank you again. I love the Vase and will be featuring it at my place with a link back to here. Hope you don't mind.
The vase is beautiful and without even thinking about it, it makes the perfect little birthday present to myself this month in the colors of the monthly birthstone....aqua for Aquamarine. ;-) Take care ~ Rebecca
Lovely dockside dining - from reading about your house I am inspired to give my house more character - where to begin?
WHAT a COOL place to live! It's really in your image and I adore the stone door handles. Can't wait till I can get stuck into my own house!!
It looks brilliant - the rock faced edge is really unusual. I wish you many happy mealtimes eating and chatting at that little table.
Hi, Lili! I'm visiting from my friend Ange's blog, and I just thought I'd say hello. I love your counter!! Just love it.
I'm from coastal Maine, have lived all over, and my husband and I were there in the fall for 4 months living on Peaks Island. We're back in Massachusetts now, but we plan on moving back up to Maine very soon. It's where our hearts and minds are all the time, so we can't wait!
So glad I found you through Ange. I'll be back to visit soon. Oh, and I'm an avid sea glass collector, too! xo Gigi
I love what you have done with your kitchen! The counter, knobs and eating area, all so wonderful.
I LOVE someone that knows what they want, even if it's out of the ordinary, and then goes ahead and does it. I am some impressed!
Love everything about it......
Hi Lili,
Love the drawer pulls, raku fish too cool!
Just stopping by from Gigi's The Magpie's Fancy and needed to let you know how much I love your counters, and your blog...will be spending some time looking around here I can tell. Altho I am from RI we spend summer vacations in Maine every August...so Maine is in my heart too...
Oh I love your kitchen! That granite with the rock face edge is too cool! And I love your little "booth" and the beautiful seahorse!
Kat :)
I love the rock face edge you have on your counters. I never would have thought of that. Im new to your pages but I too, moved from somewhere to where my heart called. People thought I was crazy and perhaps I am. But Im happier than Ive ever been. I have to get new counters in my kitchen one day soon.....and I am going to use that idea. Its awesome.
