My rainy day project today was to try to pretty up this old typewriter stand that I picked up over the weekend. At first I thought I may use it as a rolling stand for my
KitchenAid mixer so I could just wheel it over to the power cord in my kitchen. The wheels are not shown in this before shot, as they were with Henri getting a much needed shot of
WD-40.
Since my mixer is silver in color, I had the idea to use some silver paint to lighten up the look of the stand and then decided a little gold would add a little zip to it too.
I really like this little pencil drawer.
And the embossed writing on the base reads "Pat. Applied For."
After I finished, I realized it would work well in our studio space too.
And it glides nicely on the painted concrete floors in case I want to use it for transporting 50# boxes of clay with ease.
For now, I think I will leave it in the studio.
Guess I'll keep my mixer where it is for now.

I just love the beautiful finish you achieved with the gold and silver. It looks great where you put it. So unexpected but PERFECT!
I loved it before you started on it, but it really looks brilliant in your studio!
cute!!
What a great find, and the fact that you can use it in several different spaces is a double bonus!
