Apothecary Madness

This is the apothecary jar that I previously did a post about, where I experimented with silver leaf to see if I could give it the look of mercury glass.
Then, just a week or so ago, I found two more smaller ones that I was able to finish off my packet of silver leaf with.

Here they are all together. The tallest one measures 13" high.

I swear, I really wasn't looking for any more of them, but today I found the grandaddy of apothecary jars. This one measures 2 feet tall. For comparison purposes, here is a shot of all of them together.

Even though I'm fresh out of silver leaf, when I saw it sitting on the shelf today for a mere $7.99, I simply had to bring it home with me. What is it about these jars that makes me want to own so many of them? And when Henri asks me what I'm going to do with them, I don't even have a good answer other than extend my open hand their way and reply "tada!"

That truly is the granddaddy of all apothecary jars! And I'm sure you'll put all of them to beautiful and good use!

That made me laugh - ta da!! I love the look of them dressed in silver.

That big one might look nice full of shells - or sea glass - or most anything - or by itself, or dressed in silver. So many things to ponder - that's what you can tell Henri - you are going to ponder.

I feel the same way about apothecary jars! They make such a statement in a room. I also love bell jars. I only have one bell jar, but I am always using it to showcase treasures.

I've been experimenting with silver leaf lately, too. Just leafed an old frame and made a new bathroom mirror out of it. So satisfying!

Your jars are lovely!!!
