Kindness That Warms The Heart

Today I received a surprise package in the mail from Rachel, a blogger friend that I had the pleasure to meet in person this past summer.    Oh if she could only see the ice forming in the very ocean that she and her husband went kayaking in while on their honeymoon here.

When I saw her name on the return address of the parcel that was delivered to me today, it made me smile.  When I saw what was inside, it warmed my heart.  Because she knows I love sprinkles.

And then to discover that she hand made something for me too.  I was so touched by that.

Rachel's thoughtfulness came from her desire to participate in a Pay It Forward event.  A powerful gesture to inspire kindness to others.

No matter how remote we may be from each other in distance, this world of blogging has a way of drawing us closer.

Connecting us with people that we may have never known,

oftentimes inexplicably, from just the random click of a mouse.

  8. As I near my one
    year anniversary
    of blogging, this
    is the theme that
    comes instantly to
    my mind: kindness.
    There is surely
    more kindness in
    the world than less,
    but that is not a
    message that we find
    in the news or even
    in much tv or movies.
    Love your gift and
    Rachel sounds like
    a delight. Of course,
    you know I adore these
    pics....
    xx Suzanne

  10. Hi Lili,

How lovely to be thought of in such a special way. It truly is that kind of kindness that warms the heart. It reminds me to "not be stale" and to remember my dear friends too. Your sprinkles are just lovely and I loved your idea you shared a few months ago. I've been collecting my bottles to start my own collection. In fact, I'm going to get out in this frigid weather, go get me a mocha and take a trip to the thrift store. That should do me good for this cabin fever. Stay warm up there in Maine.

  13. This is a truly heartwarming post...and it looks like you can use some heartwarming.

It is SO BEAUTIFUL. I can't imagine ice on the ocean that I think of as always in motion, always rushing in and out of John's Bay. You get so attuned to the sounds that you know when the tide turns, or when slack tide quiets everything.

Love this and I agree. Amazing the friends we meet from blogging. LIKE YOU DEAR LILI.

  14. Lili, I'm so relieved that you got your gift! I only had your physical address from coming out last summer and I was worried that you had a PO Box, but I didn't want to ask you so it could be a surprise! I'm glad you like it!
